Artist Statement / Bio
Goddess2U is a group of dancers that explore Middle Eastern & North African Dance, Moorish Dance, and American Belly Dance. Goddess2U also enjoys incorporating poetry into their performance pieces. Goddess2U creates traditional and contemporary choreography that show the sophistication, beauty, and elegance of Belly Dance. Goddess2U was founded by Tanya Saahira Kieselbach, who has been studying, performing, and teaching belly dance in Chico since 1994. She has travelled to Morocco, Tunisia, Israel, and India; and has published some of her research on Middle Eastern dance and archaeology in journals on anthropology and dance.
