Open Studio at Avenue 9 Gallery and Art Guild
October 10 and 11 from l0 am to 5 pm, Avenue 9 Gallery Art Guild Members will be holding "Open Studio" (a Chico Art Center sponsored event).
Artists will be available to chat with the public; some will do demonstrations and there will be a large assortment of affordable art from whaich to choose pieces for your home or office.
“Paris in Chico Sidewalk Sale” at Avenue 9 Gallery
On October 3, simultaneous to the Janet Turner Print Museum Benefit Sale, Avenue 9 will mount a ChiVAA “Paris in Chico Sidewalk Sale.”
ChiVAA, Chico’s new Visual Arts Alliance, is dedicated to promoting the visual arts within Chico and beyond. Its first major act was to publish an art map that is now being distributed at galleries, hotels, restaurants, etc. Avenue 9 Art Guild members will be displaying art at reasonable prices.
Avenue 9 Gallery Janet Turner Print Museum Benefit Sale
On October 3 and 4 Avenue 9 Gallery will host the Janet Turner Print Museum Benefit Sale from 10 to 5 on Saturday and 12-5 Sunday.
Turner Collection Curator Catherine Sullivan will speak on Sunday about the Museum’s future plans. The original aim of the Turner Collection (amassed through the dedicated efforts of master printmaker Janet Turner) was to serve as a teaching tool for student printmakers. In addition, the collection now serves as a teaching resource in history, sociology and many other fields. It is the largest and finest original print collection in Northern California outside of San Francisco.
