Mentors Rising

The Kent Bellows Studio & Center for Visual Arts, a non-profit arts organization based in Omaha, encourages young artists to reach their full potential through creative expression in a professional artist mentoring context. We service anywhere from 30-40 youth artists every spring, summer and fall and house 8-10 local professional artist mentors.
Tuesday through Friday, high school aged artists from all over Omaha and Council Bluffs meet at a single collaborative art studio with their mentors and create art. We provide a variety of educational programming that ranges from curatorial and gallery practice to urban arts and graffiti techniques to blacksmithing and arts collective collaboration.
We also produce various public art projects every year that range from murals to performance art.
At the end of every semester, our young artists put on an exhibition of the work they have made. They create the flyers, theme, and do the promotion.

Our mentors' talents range from printmaking, to performance art, to wood working and sculpture, to blacksmithing, to painting, fashion design, screen printing, graffiti, and contemporary practices and new media.

Our mentors also have a show each semester at local professional galleries.

This has been an official update and report from Omaha Nebraska! Make more art y'all! :)
