On October 3 and 4 Avenue 9 Gallery will host the Janet Turner Print Museum Benefit Sale from 10 to 5 on Saturday and 12-5 Sunday.

Turner Collection Curator Catherine Sullivan will speak on Sunday about the Museum’s future plans. The original aim of the Turner Collection (amassed through the dedicated efforts of master printmaker Janet Turner) was to serve as a teaching tool for student printmakers. In addition, the collection now serves as a teaching resource in history, sociology and many other fields. It is the largest and finest original print collection in Northern California outside of San Francisco.

On October 3, simultaneous to the Janet Turner Print Museum Benefit Sale, Avenue 9 will mount a ChiVAA “Paris in Chico Sidewalk Sale.”

ChiVAA, Chico’s new Visual Arts Alliance, is dedicated to promoting the visual arts within Chico and beyond. Its first major act was to publish an art map that is now being distributed at galleries, hotels, restaurants, etc. Avenue 9 Art Guild members will be displaying art at reasonable prices.
