Concert Review
for that show that was at the fucking Paradise Lost. Monday the 20th, 2009 in the year of Ronald Reagan: it goes like this:
Right then I was walking in. right now, but then. i got a green plastic strip, this hot girl put it on my arm because i showed her my face on a plastic card. plastic cards are cool. the makai started before i got there, but that's fine because i'm fucking cool.
The Makai
Preston and I went to The Makai show at Monstros last night.
La Fin Du Monde was first, and they're good. It's an interesting sound-scape that builds toward epic crescendos interspersed with drops back to simple, mellow melodic arrangements.
My only discrepancy was that they didn't ever hit the peak crescendo you are led to believe they are going to hit.
At crucial moments they back off from the moment where you think your ears are going to explode in musical epiphany and bliss. Other than that, good stuff.
